Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the RoomReceipts app and service. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

The service

RoomReceipts helps you document a home inventory and capture move-in/out condition records for insurance and security-deposit purposes. It produces organized, timestamped, tamper-evident records from the media you capture.

Estimates, not appraisals

Values shown or suggested by the app — including AI-generated ones — are estimates, not appraisals, and may be inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming item details and values. RoomReceipts does not guarantee any insurance, claim, deposit, or legal outcome.

Your account & content

• You are responsible for your account credentials and for the content you capture and enter.
• You retain ownership of your content. You grant us the limited rights needed to store, process, and display it to provide the service (including AI processing to catalogue items).
• You represent that you have the right to capture and upload the content, including any property you record.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: forge, backdate, or falsify records; attempt to access another user's data; reverse-engineer, overload, or abuse the service; or use it for any unlawful purpose. We build the service assuming these boundaries and may suspend accounts that violate them.

Subscriptions & billing

• Paid plans are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Billing, renewals, and cancellations are handled by those stores under their terms.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store / Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• If a subscription lapses, we generate a final export and delete your data 90 days later. There is no import — returning users re-scan so records stay accurate and verifiable. A reinstatement fee may apply to resubscribing within the retention window.

Property Manager plan

If you use the Property Manager features, you (the manager) are responsible for the accuracy of, and your right to store, any tenant information you enter (name, email, phone) and for how you use the records you send. Delegated users ("supers") you invite can capture records for the units you assign them; you are responsible for whom you invite. Renters and building managers receive records only as one-way emails and do not gain accounts or access.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that records will be accepted by any insurer, court, or landlord.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoomReceipts and its providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost claims, deposits, or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the law.

Changes

We may update these terms and will revise the "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
